RCSHS Marching Band
Marching Band 28342 ½ Credit (1st Semester /After School)
This ensemble is offered during the first two grading periods only. All members must be in concert band except for color guard members who have no previous band experience. All members of this ensemble are required to attend special summer rehearsals and band camp. Freshmen or new members are required to attend a marching fundamentals mini-camp which will be held during the summer or at the end of the school year. The ensemble will rehearse after school on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and some Fridays beginning with the start of school until early November. A calendar of all rehearsals and performances will be given to each student at the beginning of the school year. Section specific rehearsals will be called as needed. This ensemble will perform at all home football games, any playoff football games, local parades, at least four Saturday marching competitions, the Kentucky Music Educators Association State Marching Championships and will also host a competition at RCSHS. Students may participate in other fall sports and activities and marching band after prior arrangement with the band director.
